Jam 2nd - Matt's 18th Bday!

Today is my birthday, and the park of the day was the Universal Studios. It is near to our hotel, so we did not ride much to get in.
There was no much people earlyer in the park, so we could enjoy the atractions without long lines. Our first ride were the Mummy Roller-Coaster. All group enjoyed that one, but after this we splited in 2 groups. My group went to a ride called DISASTER, where they show how they make disasters in movies. Joe, Leon, and me did a special participation in this ride, it was very fun.
Later we went to many other rides, like the Simpsons Roller-Coaster, the MIB ride, Sherek 4D, a magic show, and a couple others.
Even the rides, everybody took pictures with famous TV characters, like the Simpsons, Scooby-Doo, Sponge Bob, and others celebrityes...hahahaha

We spended the morning in this park, but at about 3 o'clock we went to the Island of Adventuries to have more fun...
Our first ride was one of the most famous roller-coaster in Orlando...The Incredible Hulk Roller-Coaster...that was AWESOME. Everybody loved...
After this awesome adventure, we went to the Van-Doon Tower...this one was not so great, but we had some fun too. After this some students spended their times in arcade games, but me and Marty went to the Duel-of-Dragons Roller-Coaster which was AWESOME too.
Couple minutes after this crazy ride, all students would go in the same that Mert and me went...so we rode again...
After this ride almost everybody went to the splash, and we got out of the park to go have dinner in the famous HARD-ROCK CAFE. We had a wonderful hamburguer and after we eat...they made me stand up in the chair to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY...but each student sang the music in their own language, which was very fun...
Well, I had a WONDERFUL time and I am sure that every student, including Rapha, had too.

Jan 1st - New Year...

With the countdown numbers on the sky, everyone was shouting out with the excitement and joy.10.9.8…2.1.Happy new year! We were so impressed of the very moment that we started hugging each other , shouting and shaking with the music … what a ‘magical’ magic kingdom which brought us an unforgettable memory. The first day of the year 2009 …the deam will come true.

Yesterday was a long day . Everyone just slept in until noon when the breakfast has already been taken away. We went to the DVS to grab something to eat as brunch and headed to the animal kingdom. It was over 12 o’clock already. We watched the show ‘lion king’ which was really amazing. And then we went to ride the safari where we saw lions , elephants which were pooping, crocodiles and different kinds of birds. At the same time, our big brother, Raphael, went to get the fast-pass of the kali river rapid for us. The Kali river was really cool. A lot of us became really wet as well. After that we bought some lunch (Asian noodles, frozen banana). With the new energy gained we made our way to the expedition everest. In the process of the rolling , the rail seemed damaged, we moved forward and backward with the roller coaster , all the designs just let us feel scary and surprised all the time… It’s really reallly good.

We also met the really friendly Taiwanese guy who didn’t take our fast-past tickets away in the first time, so we could ride the roller coaster twice in a short time. After that we decided to go to the Hollywood studios kingdom. The first thing we did there was going shopping for some sweatshirt due to the cold weather and some of us just wore shorts and shirts. With warm cloths on we went to the Hollywood Tower Hotel to ride the scary elevator. We had to wait almost one hour in line but the elevator was so amazing that it was worth. We dropped 2 seconds in the deep, rosen up again and dropped again. All of us screamed, including Raphael! Then it was time for supper. We had some double cheeseburgers, french fries and chocolate or carrot cakes with drinks. And now it comes to the best part of the day! The Fantasmic show with all the Disney characters joined inside. It was unbelievable beautiful! There were water fountains, laser light, fire, dragon and fireworks. The film playing on the water including all the famous cartoon made it together. It was so impressive that.we can’t even find a word to describe our surging emotion. At the end of the day we had 1 hour shopping and hanging around the park! We met in the front of a huge Christmas tree and left.. It’s a good start on the first day of the year when we make a new wish to accomplish. We all had a great time which will make us remember it .

Dec 31 - NEW YEARS EVE AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

After a great day in Sea World we couldn’t wait for our first day in Disney World, where all the dreams come true!

After a quick breakfast we headed full of energy to Walt Disney World. We went to Magic Kingdom, ready to take a picture with Mickey Mouse and his friends. The park was completely packed, a sea of people was ready to have fun, and to make their dreams come true. After a nice ride in a ferry boat that we took to reach the park, we were amazed by how perfect everything is in Disney, the ones who hasn’t been here cannot understand the beautifulness of this place.

Firstly we watched a spectacular show in front of the Cinderella Castle, with all the different characters which touched our childhood dreams. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Snow White, Cinderella and many others…

We decided to go to Adventureland and Liberty Square and spend most of the day there, because it was really hard to walk around. We really had a blast, going on many different rides: the Splash, where we got completely soaked, and the super-radical Big Thunder roller-coaster. Even if some lines were too long, it didn’t matter for us, because being together is enough to have fun. We also took a picture with the funniest character in the whole park: Goofy!: )

We were tired because it was a long day, but the only thought about the fabulous New Year’s fireworks was able to keep us awake.

After we went to an all-you-can-eat buffet for our last meal of the year. The line for this buffet was long, but we had a beautiful parade to cheer us up. The parade was a flow of lights, music, and great feelings! Everyone was happy, and forgot about the hunger, and the tiredness we were.

When the dinner table was ready, we couldn’t stop to eat because the food was excellent, a little remind of Thanksgiving in New Year’s Eve.

After dinner we headed to find a spot near the castle to see the most expected part of the day. We found a nice place in front of the castle, and everyone was anxiously excited to celebrate the opening of the New Year. The countdown started:10, 9, 8… everyone hugged themselves… 7, 6, 5… everyone was getting crazy… 4, 3, 2, 1… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! Everyone was screaming and jumping. The fireworks were beautifully exploding in the dark night sky, which suddenly got full of light. A new year was ready to be lived, welcome 2009!

And then, full of happiness we started dancing, completely crazy, jumping around, and just enjoying ourselves, ready to have a great rest of our exchange year, a year that we know it’s going to be the best of our lives!

Dec 30 - Sea World

Today, we left at 8:30 am to the Sea world, it was very very nice.

Then we went to two roller coster and it was very fun! Hahahaha! In the morning was chilli but in th afternoon very hot! We wacthed two shows, first with the dolphins, and the last the show "Believe" with Shamu. Both of them were unbelieveble.

During lunch, the most funniest thing, it was when Joe (Taiwan) dropped his soda on the floor and Raphael recorded everything.

At the show, we laughed a lot because the whales jumping spilled water to the people that were sat in the front. I never saw that before, everything is so perfect.

Around 5:30 pm we went shopping near to the park until 7:30 pm. We ate at Ponderosa, eat as much as we could, and everyone ate a lot!!!!!

Everyone today is really tired and now we have to sleep! I hope that everyone don't miss us a lot, because we are having so much fun that we don't have time to think about it!

Dec 28 - BUSH GARDENS - TAMPA, FL

Today was our first day in a park on this trip. We went to Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL, around one hour away from Orlando.
We were really excited about going on all the roller-coasters they have. We got there exactly on the time the park opened at 9 a.m. So we went to the first roller-coaster, the famous SHEIKRA, that we gave a nickname SHAKIRA. This is famous because it has a fall of 90 degrees, you have to feeling that your body completely free for 3 seconds, it is just AWESOME!!!! We went on that 2 times, and we took a really funny picture, that we bought.
After this incredible experience we went on the SPLASH (Stanley Falls Flume), we were feeling very warm and we got out completely wet.
When we got out of there, Leon and Chris painted their faces. Leon had a shark and Chris had a puppy dog.
Some crazy people (like us) want to continue going to roller-coasters and others want to go on more relaxing attractions. So we went on the KUMBA, that was our favorite roller-coaster because it has more looping and spins, and it was fast…REALY FAST!!!
About the other group they went to the CONGO RIVER RAPIDS, and they got completely wet. And they said it was really fun!
Then we decided to do the safari tour in a train. It went around the whole park, but the most interesting is when it pass through the wild animals. We saw Flamingos, Zebras, Buffalos, Rhinos, Gazels, Anthylops, and some other animals.
After that, all the group got back together again and we went in the longest roller-coaster on the park, the MONTU. This one was really amazing too!!!
The last roller-coaster was the GWAZI, that is a wooden one. It shakes a lot.
Then was the most expected time for some of us, the food time. We went to an all you can eat buffet. Everyone ate a lot, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, beans, cup cakes, apple pie, sodas, and much more…
After the huge dinner we played some little games just to relax and wait for the fireworks that they only have 3 times a year. It took about 20 minutes of a huge presentation, and was beautiful. Then we were all tired after the one of the best days of our lives, and we came back to Orlando.

Dec 27 2009 - ARRIVAL IN ORLANDO!

It was the arrival day for most of us. Rapha (Trip's Coordinator) and Rocio (from Paraguay) were in Orlando since Friday, because there were no flights from Bermuda and they welcomed in the morning 2 students: Léon (France) and Gilles (Belgium).

We went to the hotel to leave our luggages and have lunch. In the early afternoon we left to Airport to pick up another student, Lucas (Brazil). But his flight was delayed. So we stopped in a mall for a while and also got a new camera to tape our magical trip to have a beautiful DVD. Then we finally picked up Lucas!

We went back to the hotel and the 3 of us went to the pool to relax. The other students were picked up later: Marcela (Brazil), Josefine (Denmark), Yuko (Japan), D (Italy), Matt (Brazil), Joe (Taiwan) and Mert (Turkey).

They came back to the hotel and we left for dinner at Universal City Walk. We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp... and we came back to the hotel to meet Chris (Germany) that was waiting for us and we had a meeting to talk about our trip, get our backpacks and shirts. We were tired and went to bed.

Already it seems to be a great group and we are ready for the Florida Magical Trip!
